As a multi-disciplinary artist, my creations span mixed media, writing, and photography. “Autumn Glory” exemplifies a piece where the fusion of these three passions was crucial to crafting the final painting.
I have enjoyed depicting the transient beauty of the season in a large-scale painting, using eco household paints and natural materials.
The painting was started in autumn 2022 and finished in summer 2024.
There are always surprises when juxtaposing different materials. In this case, it was a leaf that curled up and seemed suspended on the canvas, beautifully capturing nature’s frailty.
Juxtaposing different materials often yields surprises. Here, a leaf curled and appeared to float on the canvas, beautifully encapsulating the fleeting nature of this season of transition.
My experimental paintings always undergo a probationary period to ensure their durability. Despite the general rule to keep paintings away from extreme temperatures, I placed this painting near a radiator throughout the winter to stress test it before its public debut.
The leave lasted until spring 2024. Having taken a high-resolution photograph of the original painting, I was able to reimagine the theme instead of attempting to replicate what was there before.
