This privacy policy has been compiled to show how information is handled on the website www.susanneirving.com.
Please note that any third-party sites that I may link to on my website have their own separate and independent privacy and cookie policies. I would not be responsible or liable for the content and activities of any of the linked sites.
Third parties I may use include WordPress, Hostpapa, Woocommerce, Royal Mail, Paypal, Google Analytics, Gravatar, MailChimp, and The Print Space.
Personally identifiable information we may collect
When website users subscribe to a newsletter, leave comments, send messages or make purchases, I will need to collect some personally identifiable information (PPI) to provide the requested service. I would only collect the information that is needed for a task.
When visitors leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, as visitors to the website can otherwise download and extract your location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely, so that any follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
What about ‘cookies’?
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on your browser when you visit a website. They are typically used to keep track of the settings you have selected and actions you have taken on a site (for example which pages you visit, when and for how long). Cookies also help to monitor, analyse and improve the performance of a website.
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices are set up. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
You have the option to accept or decline the use of non-essential cookies. However, if you change your browser setting to turn off all cookies, some website options may no longer be available to you.
Articles on this site may include embedded content from other websites.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
