I took this photo of a young fern on one of Brian Draper‘s spring retreats. During one exercise we were invited to walk around the beautiful grounds of Mottisfont and pay attention to what was drawing our attention.
I find that when I slow down and am fully present in the moment, nature often teaches me helpful life lessons – the Celtic concept of nature as God’s big book has always resonated with me…
If you have ever touched a fern and tried to unfurl it by force, you will have noticed the resistance. Whenever I see a fern, I remember the importance of letting things unfold in their own time.
Unfurling
Your unfurling
cannot
be
forced
rushed
STOPPED
without
doing violence
to the process
of becoming…

The photo is available in my print shop in 3 different sizes (7″ x 5″, A4, A2). It is printed on Hahnemühle Bamboo, the world’s first fine art inkjet paper containing 90% bamboo fibres. The paper is not only environment-friendly, but adds a lovely texture.
I am aiming to make environment-friendly choices in my whole production process, so I have chosen a carbon neutral printing company. They have printing facilities in the UK, Germany and the USA, which not only means a reduction in transport miles, but also no duty to pay for prints sent to any country in the European Union or to the USA.
Each print comes with a unique certificate of authenticity.
